Job Description: Laundry Production Specialist is responsible for the efficient processing of clean linen and soiled laundry in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. This position, under the direction of laundry production leadership will perform tasks related to ensuring quality, training, safety, and the reduction of waste in the facility. Serves in the position of checking and verifying orders, cart builds and documenting deliveries and weights. Works in collaboration with production leadership to communicate operational concerns, product defects, assists with training and supports production coordinators by ensuring high quality, efficiency and zero defects. This position may cover for production coordinator as needed. Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday Hours: 8:00am - 6:30pm Essential Functions This role works within the laundry facility to complete production goals on a daily and weekly basis. Workers are cross trained to work all departments and to operate all machines. Under the direction of the floor leader, Checks and validates completed orders and records shipment and weights. Ensures that quality standards are being met. Reviews resort, rewash and discard processes are strictly adhered to. Assists with production I, II, III and production specialist training. Ensures the smooth flow of production by monitoring equipment operation, trouble shoots bottlenecks and works to minimize delays, ensures safe operation of equipment and monitors staff safety. Carries out advanced quality checks and retrains staff as needed, performs spot checks, and follows production guidelines and specifications, documents training. Resolves errors by adjusting and making corrections and communicating with staff and leadership. Responsible to ensure that products are finished, counted, packaged and loaded properly to guarantee product quality and prevent harm or delays during transport. Throughout all laundry process, caregivers in this position are required to identify and work with leaders and co-workers on opportunities for process improvement. Demonstrated capability to perform tasks requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement. Proven track record of a strong work ethic, reliability, and organizational skills, contributing to effective task management and productivity. Proven ability to follow detailed instructions, use machinery properly and safely, and adhere to established procedures to ensure accurate and efficient laundry processing. Demonstrated capability to perform tasks requiring physical labor, including lifting, and handling large volumes of laundry, and standing for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience overseeing a quality or training program. Prior experience working in a production or assembly line environment, which can contribute to efficiency and familiarity with systematic workflows. Experience working in a dynamic and high-volume warehouse setting, demonstrating the ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced work environment. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate mutual respect, and maintain concentration on repetitive tasks to meet production standards and quality control. Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with co-workers and leaders that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes repetitive use of both hands, both arms, standing for long periods of time, visual discernment of items and defects. Utilization of computer, phone, and machine set-up and use. Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
