About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our People & Culture team. This role is pivotal in supporting the smooth operation of HR functions, ensuring compliance with UK employment law, and contributing to a positive employee experience.
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
• Contract Type: Temp to Perm
• Compensation: Attractive annual salary based on level of experience
• Location: Eltham, London
• Start: TBC
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR and data protection regulations.
• Support payroll processing , benefits and compliance administration.
• Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Respond to internal HR queries regarding policies, leave entitlements, and employment terms.
• Prepare HR documentation including contracts, variation letters, and reports.
• Monitor absence records and support managers with return-to-work and sickness review meetings.
• Ensure compliance with current employment legislation, including the Employment Rights Bill reforms.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Previous experience in an HR or administrative role (minimum 1 year preferred).
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• CIPD Level 3 qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
