Housing Needs Officer Organisation: Warrington CouncilJob Type: 6-month Temporary ContractPay Rate: £18.24 per hour Warrington Council are seeking a Housing Needs Officer to join their Place Directorate’s Housing Needs Team. This role is crucial for assessing statutory homelessness applications, delivering proactive prevention and relief services, and managing emergency and temporary accommodation in compliance with key legislation such as the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. This position is ideal for someone with strong case management skills, who is adept at partnership working and can negotiate sustainable housing solutions. Day-to-day of the role: Assess and manage statutory homelessness applications.Create and implement Personalised Housing Plans for clients.Support out-of-hours homelessness services as required.Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective housing solutions.Manage emergency and temporary accommodation, minimizing reliance on such options.Contribute to continuous improvement of the housing services provided.
