A busy family in Pyrford, Surrey, is seeking an experienced afternoon housekeeper to support their newly refurbished five-bedroom home and assist with family routines. The parents both run their own businesses and often work from home, creating a lively but informal environment. Their young son (aged 4) is at school during the day, and they also have a well-behaved family dog. The role is primarily focused on housekeeping, household organisation and family cooking, with occasional childcare and dog care as needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing the daily housekeeping schedule to maintain a high standard throughout the home.
• Coordinating with the weekly cleaner and overseeing standards.
• Managing external contractors -gardener, window cleaner, tradespeople.
• Grocery shopping, keeping the pantry stocked, and managing food rotation.
• Preparing nutritious family meals and snacks, including occasional batch cooking.
• Laundry care, ironing, and wardrobe management (special care for delicate fabrics).
• Running errands, organising household supplies, and managing deliveries.
• Occasional dog care and walks.
• Light ad hoc childcare (e.g. after-school support, occasional babysitting).
Requirements
• Proven experience as a housekeeper in a private home.
• Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Confident cook able to prepare healthy, family-style meals.
• Discreet, reliable, and proactive, with a flexible approach.
• Driver with own car.
• First Aid certification required.
• Up-to-date DBS and two contactable references.
