We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity at the University as a Home Admissions Administrator, joining our friendly team in Marketing and Communications. The Home Admissions team sits within Student Marketing and Communications and manages the application process for Home Undergraduate, Postgraduate and College prospective students, working with academic schools of the University and our Consortium colleges. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference to our applicant’s admissions journey into higher education.

The Home Admissions team provide a customer focused service to potential students, schools and other University staff, and lead on major University events such as Clearing, one of the most important recruitment activities at the University. They are central to supporting recruitment targets and ensuring the admissions and enrolment of high-quality students.
The role supports hybrid working with three work from home days each week, two days in the office. Key periods may require increased office time. Main duties and responsibilities

You will be responsible for processing applications for undergraduate, postgraduate and college prospective students, working with the six academic schools of the University and our Consortium colleges. You will make decisions in consultation with other colleagues, and you will answer queries and provide information and guidance to a range of stakeholders in all aspects of the admissions process.
For our team to operate effectively, team working is an essential part of the post. As such, the post holder will be expected to work closely with the team leader and deputies in addition to other colleagues.

Skill and experience required

It is essential for you to have administrative experience and excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, work to tight deadlines, and to prioritise workloads effectively with minimum supervision. You will possess a high level of IT skills and computer literacy, including knowledge and ability to use MS Office applications to intermediate level. Proven experience and ability to manage conflicting priorities, working effectively under pressure to strict deadlines, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail at all times is essential.
You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to draft correspondence in clear, grammatical English. Proven experience in delivering service excellence is required for this role.
You will be able to learn, understand and follow complex policies, procedures and processes and apply this to making decisions accurately and consistently, whilst demonstrating initiative. You will also be keen to collaborate and improve processes to increase applicant experience.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to create good working relationships and communicate effectively with applicants, their advisers and staff at all levels within the university. This role requires you to be able to adhere to rules of confidentiality, data protection and equality and diversity. A commitment to providing a high quality service is essential for this role.

Qualifications required

You will hold a minimum of five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent level qualification, or proven work experience.
Educated with A-levels, a degree or a higher qualification would be advantageous.
