Overview

We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our Birmingham depot. Experience within the hire industry is preferable, though not essential. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop within a dynamic and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan daily transport routes according to supply and demand
• Controlling all movements of 5 HGV units daily
• Ensure legal compliance of HGV fleet
• Ensure legal compliance of drivers
• Understand driver issues that may arise when delivery or collections are made
• Control servicing and maintenance of HGV fleet
• Maintain records of servicing as per legal requirements
• Controlling abnormal load movements
• Manage Tool Box Talks
• Assist the Hire Desk in busy periods

Candidate Requirements

· Experience in HGV movements and abnormal loads.

· A willingness to learn in a busy office environment.

· Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.

· Proficient in IT and data input, with a high level of accuracy.

· Strong geographical knowledge and attention to detail.

· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead.

· High personal and professional ethics, with a proactive approach to tasks.

· CPC qualification (preferred)

· FORS understanding (preferred)
