Job Opportunity: List Caller/ Court Usher - Highbury Magistrates' Court (HMCTS) We are excited to be recruiting for a Court Usher to join our client, HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) - an agency of the Ministry of Justice. This is a full-time, temporary role based primarily at Highbury Magistrates' Court, with occasional duties at other nearby courts as required. Contract: till March 31 March 2026 (with potential extension)Salary: £15.59 per hour (plus holiday entitlement and pension scheme)Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm About the Role As a Court Usher (List Caller), you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of daily court proceedings. You will manage court lists, assist court users, and support the judiciary and legal professionals throughout hearings. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and manage daily court lists, ensuring accuracy.Call parties into the courtroom and maintain smooth case flow.Keep court users informed of estimated timings and case progress.Liaise with legal representatives, interpreters, and support services.Assist with courtroom setup and ensure all documents are in place.Support administrative tasks such as post opening, case entry, and handling telephone/counter queries.Provide excellent customer service to all court users. Skills & Experience Required Professionalism: Ability to stay calm and proactive in a busy environment.Organisation: Strong time management and prioritisation skills.Communication: Clear, confident, and professional both in writing and face-to-face. Public speaking required.
