Health & Safety Lead | £45,000-£48,000 Per Annum | Manchester | Permanent | Rail Rolling Stock Industry The Opportunity This position is hands-on, highly visible across sites, and ideal for someone who thrives on building structure, influencing culture and driving continuous improvement. You’ll lead the development of a robust safety management system, support project teams with risk management and training needs, and ensure compliance across all certifications and documentation. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a centralised safety management system that supports consistent standards across all rail projects.Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections across depots, maintenance teams and project sites.Deliver and monitor health & safety training programmes to upskill teams and reinforce safe working practices.Ensure compliance with all relevant certifications, documentation and regulatory requirements.Support project managers and operations teams by providing expert HSQE guidance while enabling them to lead safety delivery.Create and maintain a framework for continuous improvement, including trend analysis, reporting and corrective action processes.Build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams to embed a positive safety culture.Adapt HSQE frameworks to suit varied project environments without disrupting operational delivery. Essential Experience & Qualifications NEBOSH Level 3 or equivalent (mandatory).NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 (desirable).Background in manufacturing or logistics; rail industry experience is highly advantageous.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.Experience in risk management, safety inspections
