Head of Sales – Automation My client is a leading UK provider of advanced, bespoke automation systems. They're seeking a high-performing Head of Sales – Automation to lead their commercial strategy, elevate sales performance, and drive profitable growth across their Automation division. Role Overview You will own the sales strategy, lead the sales and applications team, and personally manage major high-value automation opportunities. This role ensures enquiries are well qualified, proposals are commercially robust, and the business focuses on deliverable, profitable work. As part of the divisional SMT, you’ll play a key role in shaping commercial direction and future capability. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the sales & applications team to deliver strong order intake and margin performanceOwn the sales strategy, pipeline quality, forecasting accuracy, and commercial governanceTake hands-on leadership of strategic bids and high-value automation enquiriesImprove qualification discipline, pricing strategy, and conversion ratesStrengthen sales processes, CRM usage, and workflow automationWork closely with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure commitments are achievableBuild senior customer relationships and represent the division at key meetings and events Essential Experience Technical background in automation, controls, robotics, or systems integrationProven senior sales or commercial leadership within engineered automation or machineryStrong track record securing high-value capital equipment projectsSkilled in reviewing concepts, costings, and proposalsConfident operating at senior/executive level with excellent negotiation and communication skills Desirable Experience w
