The Role:



We are looking for an experienced Interim Head of Housing Design and Delivery to lead and manage a team within a Capital Programme Service. This senior role involves overseeing the delivery of housing programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage risk, and ensure the delivery of housing projects aligns with our clients strategic priorities, including sustainability and carbon reduction goals.



Key Responsibilities:



Lead the delivery of housing capital projects from inception to completion.
Develop and manage a fully costed 30-year housing investment plan.
Oversee asset management strategies and stock condition reviews.
Ensure best practices in design and construction, meeting all legal and quality standards.
Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to drive performance improvements.
Report progress to senior management and ensure projects meet social value and sustainability targets.



What the Client is Looking For:



Extensive experience in managing housing-related construction projects, ideally in social housing.
Proven leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams.
Expertise in risk management, asset management, and commercial contract negotiations.
Strong understanding of the national policy context for housing and local government projects.
A professional qualification (e.g., BSc, MSc, or equivalent experience) in construction or business management.
