The group was founded in partnership with a leading independent school in the UK. The group now comprises ten schools in seven cities across Asia.
Established in 2005, the Beijing school is a dynamic, very well-known and highly respected high performing co-educational independent school. The school caters for approximately 1570 expatriate children aged 2-18 from forty five different countries across six continents. The school comprises three schools, each with its own Head teacher: Early Years; Junior School; and Senior School. They offer the English National curriculum in KS3, International GCSEs in KS4 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma in KS5. Role and RequirementsThe Head of Early Years will be a dynamic leader with the potential to
flourish in the whole school context and make a significant contribution to the
College's development as a world-leading educational community. The
successful candidate is likely to possess many of the following
characteristics, experience, skills, and knowledge;
- University educated with an advanced degree preferred - NPQH or equivalent preferred
- Recognised current teaching qualification
- 10 plus years of senior leadership experience as a deputy or head
- A track record of success as a head or deputy head in an international a similar setting or primary school
- Proven experience of leading, developing, and motivating teams with a clear commitment to the continuing professional of all colleagues
- Proven experience of leading a curriculum with a play-based and inquiry-based approach.
- A deep pedagogical understanding and knowledge of the young children learn
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the school community
- Strong people management skills with the capacity to delegate effectively, empower colleagues to take ownership, and provide meaningful support and challenge;
- High emotional empathy and intelligence with the ability to relate well to a range of people with diverse backgrounds;
- High levels of cultural sensitivity and flexibility to rapidly understand and assimilate the context in Beijing.
- A naturally collaborative team player with a positive approach to change and development;
- A warm, empathetic, and visible leadership style with the presence to motivate and inspire excellence in others
