Liberty Group seek a Group Financial Controller to take charge of our finance, payroll, and processing functions, leading a team of 25 professionals. This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure robust financial governance, accurate reporting and drive strategic improvements across the group Your Role: Lead the group finance, payroll, and processing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and complianceOversee monthly financial close processes, ensuring accurate consolidated balance sheets and management accountsGovern balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong valuation processes for all accountsHarmonise accounting policies across Liberty Group and align with Wates Property ServicesManage intercompany consolidation, annual audits, and statutory accounts productionEnsure compliance with all business taxes (VAT, CIS, IR35, PAYE, etc.) and make key tax-related decisionsOversee payroll and processing functions for timely and accurate operationsDrive key business improvement projects, including system implementations and transitionsManage treasury functions and support transactions related projects What we need from you: Qualified ICAEW or ACCA Accountant with at least 8 years post-qualification experienceProven track record of leading sizeable finance teamsStrong technical knowledge of accounting standards, tax compliance, and financial controlsAdvanced Excel skills and experience with accounting softwareExceptional decision making abilities and a proactive approach to problem
