- Other duties may be assigned. Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager, or designee and established hospital and departmental policies and procedures is responsible for the following duties.
 - Must be courteous to patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and other employees of the organization.
 - Prepares and serves salad mixes for sandwiches and salad bar.
 - Sets up, serves and cleans up the salad bar, soup station, breakfast stations, beverage stations, hot food counter, grill.
 - Cooks to order grilled items needed for food service department.
 - Prepare and cook all Cafeteria breakfast grill items. Take requests for food items while maintaining proper portion control and using safe food handling practices.
 - Coordinate with kitchen personnel in keeping steam table stocked.
 - Hold various chilled ingredients under refrigeration and handle according to established departmental procedures.
 - Cleans general work area daily and overall area as needed.
 - Restock and rotates all items used in performance of assignments.
 - Serves on patient tray and cafeteria serving line. Maintains deli/salad/sandwich bar.
 - Maintains cleanliness of preparation and serving areas in accordance with sanitation standards. Wipes spills in walk-ins and other work areas as necessary.
 - Uses proper care in the use of food service equipment.
 - May do the following tasks under the guidance of the Cooks: make regular & diet custard, make regular cranberry and banana bread, make carrot cake (diet), make cupcakes.
 - Takes temperatures of all items on tray lines and enters into taste/temp. log, adjusting accordingly to maintain quality of foods served.
 - Rings sales on cash registers and collects money.
 - Must wear facility provided identification badge.
 - As well as other tasks as assigned.
 - Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects Falmouth Hospital’s commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service.
 
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
