About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Director, Senior Tax Manager for their London office, reporting to the Head of International Tax. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with various international corporate tax issues within a diverse financial services company. The successful candidate will lead the global Transfer Pricing team, supporting the wider Corporate Tax team in managing Transfer Pricing functions. Responsibilities include providing advice and guidance to business lines, setting Transfer Pricing strategy, and ensuring compliance with external obligations. This position is pivotal in overseeing Transfer Pricing operations, offering strategic direction, and ensuring regulatory compliance. In this role, you will: Support the group in respect of the responsibilities outlined below, as well as the wider Corporate Tax team as and when required. Have significant experience of transfer pricing issues, be a self-starter and a clear communicator with all levels of management. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and pro-actively with Wells Fargo business lines, legal entities, and functional support groups. Lead the transfer pricing team to provide technical Transfer Pricing advice to internal stakeholders, support groups and lines of business; Lead global and regional initiatives to standardise and improve Wells Fargo’s Transfer pricing policies, implementation and documentation to reduce associated tax, regulatory, reputational and other risks; Develop and manage a governance structure to monitor and oversee the effective selection, implementation and documentation of Transfer Pricing policies; Develop and design group-wide Transfer Pricing policies and non-standard transactional Transfer Pricing solutions; Manage the group’s overall Transfer Pricing documentation (in collaboration with local advisors where required); Monitor financial data of related party transactions provided by other functional support groups; Attend and provide Transfer Pricing input to new initiative / product meetings and senior management regional meetings; Work with other corporate tax teams to support the governance of all aspects that are relevant for Transfer Pricing; Manage Transfer Pricing aspects of audits and questions from tax authorities, regulators and other external bodies; Monitor changes to global and regional Transfer Pricing regulations and perform impact assessments as appropriate; Manage external advisors providing local Transfer Pricing advice and consultancy services; Liaise closely with colleagues in the International tax team to ensure that group initiatives are implemented within the region. Management and maintenance of, and adherence to, the tax governance and controls framework for Transfer Pricing globally; Implementing process efficiencies to facilitate and enhance Transfer Pricing compliance; Manage the impact and communication of changes to legislation and guidance, considering the impact for the group; and Manage training and regular updates to Key stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Experience in Corporate Tax, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Management or leadership experience. Experience of managing a team based in multiple locations; Post-qualification transfer pricing experience preferably within banking or financial services (but not required). Technical Knowledge Excellent understanding of Transfer Pricing concepts, the OCED Transfer Pricing guidelines and the interaction of international guidelines and country-specific rules. Business Skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Strong interpersonal and team working skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; Adept at dealing with competing priorities and able to work well under pressure; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; and Strong understanding of tax, finance, and regulatory reporting interdependence. Job Expectations: Strong understanding of Transfer Pricing issues for a multinational company. Strong understanding of tax accounting and corporate tax reporting. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely on international tax matters with senior management, and other non-tax personnel. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with strong interpersonal skills. Liaise with and manage external advisors, engagements and business relationships. Ability to understand relevant business area issues and developments. Manage the team effectively to consistently and timely deliver against targets.
