What you need to know

Hours: These positions are offered on a part time basis – 15 and 20-hour contracts are available, with a shift rotation over 7 days, including early starts, evening finishes and weekends.

Example part time shifts include weekday mornings 6am to 10.30am, weekday evenings 4.30pm to 10.30pm, weekends 7.45am to 1.45pm and 2pm to 8.30pm, start and finishing times of shifts may vary from venue to venue. You will have the option to either work on a shift rotation or have set hours and this will be discussed at interview.

Contract type:

  • Permanent

Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £13.89 per hour.

Location:

  • City-wide, with your main base discussed at interview.

What you’ll do

As a Gym Instructor, you’ll be a part of an established Health & Fitness team, reporting to the Health & Fitness Co-ordinator. You’ll play an essential role in the members fitness journey, providing a variety of fitness programmes and delivering a range of fitness activities to suit everybody. You will be involved in promoting health and fitness at local and citywide events. You will gather gym user information and oversee the general safety and behaviour of customers to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities and equipment. The safety of our customers and staff is paramount so you will follow industry and government guidelines and protocols to provide a safe environment, helping with the preparation and cleaning of the facility and maintenance of equipment. To ensure that Glasgow Club can deliver the best experience to its customers, you will need to be flexible and adaptable to change and delivering new activities.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone with the right skills who brings energy to the role. If the following sounds like you, apply today!

We’re looking for:

  • Level 2/3 Health and Fitness Qualification in Gym, Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills to engage and motivate members
  • Fitness Coaching qualifications in group fitness activities or the flexibility to learn new skills
  • The ability to work confidently with fitness programming software such as My Wellness
  • Previous gym experience
