The General Operative will primarily work either as part of our factory processing team, or rig harvest team. Most of the tasks involve ensuring the leeks are washed, stripped of any outer leaves and roots and cut to size ready for onward packing. These tasks are either completed inside the rig unit in the field, or within the factory on site. Some workers are required to be stationed at the front of the rig, pulling leeks from the ground, trimming with a knife and placing on the rig belt.
