We are seeking a proactive and adaptable General Cover Teacher (GCT) to join a dynamic secondary school located in the Sutton Coldfield area. This vital role involves supervising classes and delivering pre-planned lessons across all subjects in Key Stages 3, 4, and occasionally 5, ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising secondary pupils (ages 11-18) during lessons, managing classroom behaviour effectively.

• Delivering pre-prepared work efficiently and ensuring pupils remain on task.

• Communicating effectively with teaching staff regarding pupil progress and any issues encountered during cover sessions.

• Upholding school policies and contributing positively to the overall high standards and achievement of the school.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a professional who:

• Has experience working with secondary school-aged pupils (desirable but not essential if you have strong classroom management skills).

• Is flexible, reliable, and able to cover a diverse range of subjects.

• Possesses excellent behaviour management and communication skills.

• Is fully committed to the welfare and safeguarding of all young people.
