Hello, We are hiring a developer with strong GA4, BigQuery, and JavaScript experience to build a lightweight, cookie-less attribution pipeline. What We’re Building • Cookie-free attribution: We will not use client-side cookies or track user behavior (pages visited, clicks, etc.). • Instead, we only capture non-GDPR identifiers: • gclid (Google Ads click ID) • utm_* parameters (optional if present) • Server-side storage: All IDs and campaign mapping will be stored server-side, not in the browser. • BigQuery data model: We want to pull in: • gclid • Campaign → Ad Group → Keyword • Campaign spend • This enables us to calculate cost per qualified lead (CPL), cost per acquisition (CPA), and ROI by keyword and campaign. Responsibilities 1. GA4 Setup • Configure GA4 with a minimal schema: only capture our custom events (conversation_started, meeting_booked, purchase_completed) and pass gclid. • Ensure everything is set up to work without requiring cookie consent banners. 2. JavaScript Snippet • Write lightweight JS to capture gclid from URL and persist it (local/session storage or server-side call). • Pass gclid to our chat widget and to GA4 server-side events. 3. BigQuery Integration • Link GA4 to BigQuery. • Configure Google Ads → BigQuery Data Transfer Service to bring in campaign cost, keywords, and metadata. • Create clean, joined tables mapping gclid → campaign → spend → keyword. 4. Data Pipeline • Build queries or scripts to output attribution datasets (spend vs. outcomes) for reporting. • Document the process and teach our internal team how to use it. 5. Training & Documentation • Run short sessions with our team (non-technical founders) to show how to use GA4 and BigQuery. • Provide a simple runbook on setup, debugging, and extending to new client sites. ⸻ Must-Have Skills • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) • Google BigQuery & SQL • JavaScript (client-side, cookie-less tracking) • Google Tag Manager (client + server-side) • Google Ads campaign attribution (GCLID, Enhanced Conversions) Nice-to-haves: API integration, Looker Studio dashboards, Python for ETL.
