About
Hi, I’m Yusuf, the owner of Hiiraan Online, a major Somali news publication with ~193,000 monthly users. We are preparing for a complete website redesign and migration from ASP.NET to WordPress (PHP). Before we begin that process, we need a strong analytics foundation put in place. We currently have GA4 installed, but it is not configured properly and is missing key engagement data. We do not currently use Google Tag Manager, so GTM will need to be installed and configured from scratch. Scope of Work 1. GA4 Audit & Fixes Audit the existing GA4 implementation on our ASP.NET site: • Identify incorrect tracking, duplicated events, or missing data • Ensure proper GA4 configuration (streams, data retention, parameters, filters, etc.) • Validate pageview tracking on ASP.NET • Set up clean, accurate reporting that will remain stable before and after WordPress migration ⸻ 2. Google Tag Manager Setup (From Scratch) Since GTM is not installed, you will: • Create and configure a new GTM container • Install GTM across the ASP.NET site • Prepare a GTM setup that will easily carry over during the WordPress migration • Clean, organized workspace (folders, naming conventions, documentation) ⸻ 3. Event Tracking Implementation (GTM-Based) Implement event tracking that is essential for a news publisher: • Scroll depth tracking (50% / 75%) • Navigation + menu click tracking • Article engagement tracking (e.g., user spends 20s+, or reaches 50% of article) • Clicks into key categories • Outbound link clicks • Placeholders for “Hiiraan River” events for future use ⸻ 4. Dashboard Setup (Looker Studio or GA4 Explorations) A simple and clear reporting dashboard with: • Top articles by engagement time • New vs returning visitors • Geo + device breakdown • Scroll depth + engagement behaviour • Basic conversion events (if applicable) ⸻ 5. Documentation & Handover • Full list of tags, triggers, variables • Notes on how the setup will transfer smoothly to WordPress • Setup documentation + naming conventions • (Optional) 15-minute walkthrough call This is a critical first step before our redesign, monetization setup, and the launch of our new “Hiiraan River” product.
