Overview: We’re looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful freelancer to help us compile the world’s most comprehensive list of hi-fi bars. These are listening-first venues where records and sound systems are central to the experience — from Tokyo’s jazz kissas to audiophile lounges in New York, Berlin, and beyond. What You’ll Do: Research and collect data on hi-fi bars and listening venues globally Scrape public sources (websites, directories, social platforms, articles) for relevant listings Verify details such as name, location, description, music policy, and contact info Organise findings in a clean and consistent format (Google Sheet or Airtable) Identify gaps in coverage by region and suggest leads where deeper research is needed Ideal Candidate: Experienced in web scraping and data collection Familiar with nightlife/music/culture venues, especially hi-fi bars or audiophile spaces Able to work independently and deliver organised, high-quality data Comfortable cross-checking in multiple languages via Google Translate or similar tools Bonus: experience with Google Maps API or similar tools for geo-tagging Deliverables: Spreadsheet of 300+ verified hi-fi bars across key cities and countries Columns to include: Name, City, Country, Website/Social, Description, Genre Focus, Sound System Info (if available), Contact Email, Source URL Notes on methodology and search terms used
