About

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Fostering Service to lead and manage the Service which includes Mainstream Fostering, the Connected People Team and the Special Guardianship Support Team. You will have the opportunity to assure positive practice and development and to be innovative and creative in working alongside other professionals within the wider service.

The role encompasses responsibility for integrated working approaches through the Foster4 collaboration with other Northwest local authorities, as well as expanding our Specialist Foster Carer Scheme and the Mockingbird (Fostering Network) constellations.

You will need significant experience within a fostering service as a manager, and you will be well versed in trauma informed approaches and working in a systemic way. You will have an excellent knowledge base and understanding of the Fostering Regulations and Standards and their application within practice.

Supervision, quality assurance, service development, and safeguarding skills are all essential to this role. This will need to be combined with a passion for delivering the very best outcomes for children within foster care, along with providing foster carers with a robust, forward thinking, and supportive service that can help develop their skill sets to provide for the needs of a wide range of children's experiences and ages.
