Our welcoming secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join our Food & Nutrition department. About the Role:As our Food Technician, you will play a key part in ensuring high-quality, well-resourced practical food lessons. You will support teachers and students in creating a safe, efficient, and inspiring learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food lessons Ensuring kitchens and food rooms are clean, organised, and meet health & safety and food hygiene standards Supporting students during practical lessons where needed Managing stock, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate inventory Maintaining and cleaning equipment, including routine checks Assisting with displays, resources, and extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs The Ideal Candidate: Experience working in a school food technology environment or professional kitchen (preferred) Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety procedures Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Friendly, reliable, and able to work independently A proactive attitude and a willingness to support both staff and students What We Offer: A supportive and inclusive team environment Opportunities for training and development
