Job Description & Job SpecificationFinancial ControllerJob Title: Financial ControllerReports to: Finance DirectorDirect Reports: 2 x Finance AssistantsLocation: Warrington (Head Office)Contract Type: Full-timeJob DescriptionMain Purpose of the RoleThe Financial Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, producing accurate management accounts and financial reports, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and managing cashflow. The role also includes developing and leading the finance team to support the wider business.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily financial operations including AP/AR, payroll, banking and general ledger activityProduce accurate monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial statementsEnsure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial controlsLead the budgeting and forecasting processes and monitor performance against budgetManage company cashflow, working capital and liquidity; identify cost-saving opportunitiesProvide financial insight and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-makingSupport year-end processes and external auditsOversee VAT returns, Corporation Tax submissions and regulatory filingsWork closely with project managers and department heads on financial performance, costs and marginsMaintain finance systems and ensure all records are accurate and up to dateDevelop, mentor and lead the finance team, supporting a high-performance cultureContribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, controls and proceduresRepresent professionally and maintain excellent internal/external customer servicePerform an
