Join us as a Financial Control & Reporting Manager

  • As a manager within the financial control statutory reporting team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient planning, preparation, and circulations of UK and US quarterly and annual external results documents for the main NatWest Group legal entities
  • We’ll look to you to own and review external reporting documents and disclosures, respond to and resolve queries and to lead the preparation and circulation from planning to release for the external reporting documents the team is responsible for
  • We’re looking for you to take on a new challenge, and put your analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills to good use

What you'll do

As Financial Control & Reporting Manager, you’ll be accountable for the delivery and integrity of quarterly and annual external reporting documents, including the planning and co-ordinating of external reporting documents to key stakeholders during the reporting period as well as ensuring the documents are fit for purpose for EDC, GAC and Board circulations to meet the Group’s external financial reporting obligations.

Along with this, you’ll act as a key partner as you proactively contribute to best in class external reporting, demonstrating judgement and a thorough understanding of the business

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Be responsible for externally reported documents and disclosures that form part of the external results documents for the main NatWest Group legal entities
  • Ensure the disclosures are of a high standard and are robust and will stand up to review and challenge from executives and other key stakeholders
  • Build good working relationships with stakeholders
  • Complete value-added reporting and analysis to meet our customers’ needs
  • Be capable of proactively planning and communicating timelines and key milestones to all key stakeholders, disclosure preparers and suppliers
  • Lead and support the preparation and review of ad hoc deliverables and projects such as board papers, dividend papers, SEC reports and capital raising, working as part of the wider team to ensure that all deliverables are met
  • Work with the team and centres of excellence to standardise processes and outputs and to undertake continuous improvement activity

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial reporting and control, preferably gained within financial services. You’ll have worked in a global context and will have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a changing environment.

And you’ll hold a professional accounting qualification or have significant relevant experience in place of this.

We’ll also look to you to bring:

  • A proven ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and customers across business areas and geographical boundaries, influencing and challenging as required
  • Up to date knowledge of reporting standards and accounting policies and how they align to key processes and reporting
  • The ability to apply finance skills and knowledge to a range of financial issues including review and challenge of external document sections
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement activity
  • An astute eye for detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to tight timelines, navigate conflicting priorities and time pressure
