  • Main purpose of the role
  • The Financial Accountant is a key role within Finance Shared Service team. The role will help the team to ensure a robust control environment while delivering accurate, timely results in an efficient manner, enabling Finance as a whole to effectively partner with the business. This role will be involved in the development of the team for the future. This role is reporting to the Manager of Finance Shared Services. It focuses on delivery of seamless, accurate and complete month end process while ensure compliance with accounting regulation.

The Role: What you'll be doing

  • Ensure the financial close is completed every month according to the timetable and that the numbers reported to Group are accurate and timely. Areas specific to scope of work that is required and competed by Finance Operations team Treasury back office, Divisional accounting and Operational accounting.
  • Support the financial close and reviews for number of UK entities.
  • Prepare first review of monthly financial results, check the numbers are consistent and aligned with expectations, any queries in relation to cost allocation, debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments are raised back to the business or other finance colleagues and followed up on a timely basis.
  • Support the Group Annual Audit to ensure that year end and UK GAAP audit requirements are met.
  • Ownership of accounting for bonuses, commissions, royalties, accruals, prepayments, advanced payments and other provisions, journals postings.
  • Ownership of VAT returns, FX rate postings, loan interests, treasury funding agreements and intercompany agreements, accuracy of IC postings and cost allocations.
  • Support the UK entities with, revenue recognition, cost recharges etc, IC etc.
  • Support regular reporting fixed assets, project accounting, debtors, creditors and KPI.
  • Assist Head of Finance Shared service in driving process improvements and system enhancements in order to ensure that the financial close is completed each month according to the timetable and that numbers reported to Group are accurate and timely.
  • Bank approvals.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation.

What you will Bring

  • Part qualified ACCA accountant with 3-5 years of experience in transactional finance roles.
  • Good knowledge of financial systems, processes, and regulations.
  • Enthusiastic team player with positive and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Competent MS Excel user (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Good understanding of financial processes.
  • Ability to navigate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to understand and document current processes and ensure the best practises are in place.
  • Systems: SAP BPC, Dynamics 365 Finance, Chrome River, Medius Flow, Blackline, SAP SAC, Microsoft Office (Advanced)
