We are a UK-based SME seeking a highly experienced Finance Director / Outsourced CFO to bring immediate control, visibility, and discipline to our finance function. We already have transactional support (accounts clerk + offshore clerk), but need senior finance leadership to: - Build and maintain a rolling 13-week cashflow forecast (driver-based on AR/AP, taxes, payroll). - Deliver monthly Management Accounts Pack (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, AR/AP, KPIs, commentary). - Oversee collections and supplier payments with clear escalation rules. - Review and challenge reconciliations (bank, AR/AP, VAT, intercompany). - Work alongside our Business Central (BC) partner to ensure reports flow from the system (not manual spreadsheets). - Provide the CEO with clear, proactive communication: cash runway, risks, and options. Requirements: - Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). - Proven track record as FD / CFO in UK SMEs (£2–10m turnover). - Experience implementing and working with Business Central (BC). preferable** - Strong focus on cash management and collections. - Ability to work with both local and offshore teams. - Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-driven — not excuse-driven. Engagement - 2–3 days per month initially (with higher input in first month to set up cashflow and reporting). - Remote role, but UK experience essential. - Budget: £1,500–£2,000/month retainer, depending on experience.
