- We’re looking for a commercially-minded Finance professional to be a business partner with the Technology organisation at UW. This role will require a strong understanding of technology projects and Capex as we undergo a digital transformation.
- We’re at a critical stage in our organisational development as we look to continue our growth but ensure the organisation is optimising for scale. Supporting our teams with financial rigour, planning and analysis is a key to unlocking this.

- The Finance team brings balance to UW. They make sure our ambitious goals are underpinned by a solid financial strategy so that we can keep on innovating and growing in a way that’s sustainable.
As a Finance Business Partner to the Technology teams, your responsibilities will include
- Acting as a key business partner to the Technology leadership team, building a strong rapport to collaborate effectively in delivering the business unit strategy
- Manage end to end project financial operations including timesheet controls, capitalisation postings, and full project lifecycle administration.
- Understanding and communicating business performance, the business model and key priorities
- Leading, managing and developing accurate and timely periodic management reporting in relation to the business area performance and administrative cost lines
- Preparation and presentation of monthly accounts
- Preparation of month end and year end accounts including preparation of journals, allocations, balance sheet reconciliations and calculation of provisions and accruals
- Supporting and challenging the Central Finance Planning team regarding Capex and margins forecasts/budgets for the business area
- Supporting the development of operational strategy for the business unit
- Setting the direction and managing risk and opportunities with the finance team and the wider business
- Supporting and guiding operational teams with projects, queries and concerns relating to finance and budget planning.
- Qualifications
We're looking for you to bring the following skills and experience
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) (We're open to NQ applications for this role)
- Experience in working in a high growth and fast paced consumer led business
- Solid business partnering experience supporting technology teams or projects with experience of capex accounting
- Experience in working with senior operational or commercial leaders
- Advanced Excel user with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets
- Solid ERP experience (We use Netsuite but we can train you on the specifics!)
- Great communication skills - Can tell a compelling story of the 'why' and seeks to emotionally engage; Tell a story using data as a reference and goes beyond the obvious
- Demonstrates the ability to fully manage stakeholder expectations and influence decisions
- Data-driven decision-maker. You’ll seek out insight through deep data analysis whilst being able to tell stories using data as a starting point
- Warm and empathetic communicator who enjoys building rapport and trust with stakeholders and colleagues
- Ability to drive and deliver continuous improvements in processes
- Proven financial modelling, analytical and presentations skills are essential
- Hands-on approach with a readiness to be flexible
- Please note, this role will be subject to a background checks including a basic DBS.
