  • Job Purpose
  • As a Finance Assistant at Unily, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance function across a broad range of operational and accounting activities. This role is suited to someone with a solid foundational understanding of finance who is eager to advance their skills in a dynamic, fast‑growing, and innovative business.
  • You will work closely with the wider finance team to ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, contribute to a fast monthly close process, and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will also assist with departmental projects, including the implementation of new financial controls, systems enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • For the right candidate, there may be future opportunities to progress into more senior roles within the finance team, including positions such as Finance Manager, depending on performance, skills development, and business needs.
  • This role is hybrid with 2 days per week in our Eashing office (outside of Godalming, Surrey) and the remainder from home.
  • Main Responsibilities

Accounts payable, receivable and bookkeeping

  • · Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records within NetSuite, ensuring timely entry of all transactions.
  • · Perform routine data entry tasks including journal postings for prepayments, fixed assets, expenses and reconciliations.
  • · Investigate and resolve discrepancies by liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • · Organize and maintain financial documentation to support audit readiness and efficient retrieval.

Financial reporting

  • · Assist in preparing monthly financial statements including balance sheets, P&Ls, supporting schedules, and reconciliations.
  • · Support analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • · Help produce management reports and contribute information required by external parties when needed.

Compliance and regulation

  • · Adhere to accounting principles and internal control policies.
  • · Assist with ensuring compliance with tax filings and statutory requirements.
  • · Participate in external audits, providing documentation and supporting the implementation of audit recommendations.

  • · A good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial operations.
  • · Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • · Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • · A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
  • · Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • · Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with NetSuite is advantageous but not essential.
