About the role
- The Children’s Centre Family Workers supports the work the Children’s Centres do in improving outcomes for young children and their families, reducing inequalities, supporting families in greatest need in child development and school readiness, parenting aspirations, and parenting skills as well as child and family health and life chances.You will achieve this through the delivery of a range of group-based support activities, focusing on the antenatal period onwards, including the delivery of evidence-based parenting, wellbeing and domestic abuse programmes, as well as through the provision of individual support.
- The Family Workers provide early intervention support to prevent escalation of needs through the established link with the integrated front door and through daily domestic abuse meetings and through request for support forms submitted by multi-agency professionals. Family Workers also have a key role in supporting vulnerable families that are open to our social care teams. This involves planning, implementing and reviewing tailored 1:1 support as part of a multiagency response to meeting children’s needs.
- Level 3 Childcare or equivalent is essential.
- Essential car user.
- Because we are working with such vulnerable children and young people, workers would need to have sound knowledge and experience of safeguarding and working with vulnerable children and young people.
