WORK SHIFT: First Shift (United States of America) Our NC facility is temperature-controlled by HVAC. JOB DESCRIPTION: Execute each project phase to completion as directed by management to meet objectives. Prepare for new equipment installations, including setup, relocation, electrical work, and startup. Update mechanical and electrical drawings to reflect facility and project changes. Maintain current and archival records for all plant equipment and operating permits. Supervise all facility-related tasks and ensure proper execution and compliance with codes and standards. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and costs. Maintain plant security and fire protection systems. Take initiative to identify and perform necessary tasks and assist others as necessary. Create and manage an annual calendar for facility services, inspections, and testing. Submit weekly written reports summarizing facility activities. Manage spare parts inventory and requisition replacements as needed. Collaborate professionally with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors. Consult with vendors on equipment operations and replacement parts. Conduct department safety and policy orientation for new employees. Complete and maintain required training documentation for facility roles. Assign personnel or vendors to respond to facility emergency calls promptly. Available outside of regular shift for facility emergencies and security alarm related calls. Collaborate with the environmental compliance engineer to ensure regulatory adherence. Conduct performance reviews with professionalism and document employee recognition or disciplinary actions. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization. Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully. Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions. Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect. Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects. Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager. Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service). Understands department’s key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team. Other duties as needed or required. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Respond as necessary to weather-related events and activities. Act as an Emergency Responder, which includes training and certification in performing first-aid, CPR, and AED operation. Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Industrial Technology accepted) plus 5 years minimum experience in a high-volume manufacturing plant, all associated equipment, and robots / automated equipment, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software system or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Write clear and legible reports and correspondence. Perform basic math operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions. Monitor and maintain detailed filing systems for multiple concurrent projects. Understand local building codes and electrical distribution systems. Read and create blueprints (electrical, mechanical, plumbing). Familiar with electrical codes and safety standards. Ability to develop project schedules and budgets. Ability to work within limited or tight budget constraints. Adapt quickly to new projects and changing priorities. Demonstrate strong supervisory and team collaboration skills. Able to communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal teams. Able to conduct performance reviews and manage team dynamics with patience and professionalism. Maintain high standards of quality, accountability, and ownership. Organized and methodical. Able to work other shifts as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 10+ years’ experience in a high-volume plastics manufacturing plant, working with injection molding machines up to 2000 tons, all associated equipment, and robots / automated equipment. Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. The Facilities Manager leads and coordinates efforts for continuous improvement and is responsible for assessing and implementing manufacturing and office layouts, building upgrades, and expansions. Collaborates closely with operations, office staff, engineering, and quality teams. Tracks work orders that require annual renewals or new work orders/contracts, for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Directs employees who are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing machinery, tools, equipment, and facility systems, including grounds and utilities.
