Senior Machine Vision Engineer – HALCON / Multi-Camera IR Tracking Systemjob category Description: The hardware is set (6 global-shutter GigE/USB3 cameras, IR ring lighting, fixed-geometry marker caps). We now need an expert to implement the vision software, calibration flow. Responsibilities: • Implement intrinsic + extrinsic calibration workflows for multi-camera setup using HALCON. • Develop marker-blob detection (IR reflective spheres) + triangulation + rigid body pose (6-DoF) pipeline in HALCON or HALCON-exported C++/C#. • Define and implement visor marker templates per player for unique ID tracking. • Integrate pose output (position + rotation quaternion) via UDP or WebSocket . • Validate system performance (frame rate, pose accuracy, latency) and optimize parameters (exposure, thresholding, smoothing filters). • Prepare documentation of calibration and run procedure for future rooms. Required Skills: • Extensive experience with MVTec HALCON (HDevelop, camera calibration, multi-camera systems). • Strong knowledge of global-shutter industrial cameras (GigE/USB3), hardware trigger sync, IR ring lighting. • Proficient in 3-D geometry: triangulation, pose estimation (Kabsch or equivalent), quaternion math. • Experience sending real-time pose data to (UDP/WebSocket). • Good command of Python or C++ for auxiliary scripts is a plus. • Ability to deliver clean, documented code and reusable calibration workflows. Nice-to-have: • Experience with motion-capture style systems (OptiTrack, Vicon) or marker-based tracking. • Experience in real-time gaming / Unity pipeline integration. Project Scope & Timeline: • Phase 1: Build and deliver calibration/pose pipeline for a room (4–8 markers) within 4-6 weeks. • Duration: 20-40 hours per week (remote). • Possible extension into Phase 2 (full-body skeleton tracking) .
