About

1️⃣ Clear expectations about the task or deliverables I am creating an emotional, voice-over–driven memoir series on YouTube called From Pain Into Purpose. Each episode is 8–20 minutes, faceless, and built from: my voiceover (British accent with Caribbean warmth), my pencil-sketch images, stock footage, light motion text overlays, gentle transitions and pacing suited to emotional storytelling. Your task will be to: Edit full episodes in a long-form storytelling style Sync voiceover + images + b-roll Add subtle animations/zooms to sketches Add captions or on-screen text for emotional emphasis Choose or incorporate royalty-free stock footage Colour-correct, sound-balance, and deliver a 1080p or 4K YouTube-ready export Create chapter markers when needed I will provide: Full script Voiceover audio Sketch images Storyboard guidance Music track (where applicable) I expect a polished, professional, emotionally engaging final video that holds viewer attention from start to finish. 2️⃣ Skills required The ideal editor should have: Strong experience in YouTube storytelling and narrative editing Ability to craft emotional pacing — not just clip-stitching Familiarity with faceless YouTube formats Comfort mixing voiceovers with sketches + stock footage Motion text / subtle animation skills Excellent audio syncing and sound design Access to quality stock footage libraries Sensitivity to tone — warm, soulful, reflective Bonus points for anyone who has edited: memoir content healing or reflective videos documentary-style voiceover culturally rooted / heritage storytelling 3️⃣ Good communication Clear communication is very important to me. I appreciate: honesty transparency weekly updates a quick message if anything is unclear willingness to ask questions rather than guess respect for deadlines openness to revisions I’m easy to work with, but I care about detail — especially emotional accuracy and pacing. 4️⃣ Details about how you (or your team) like to work I like to work with editors who: understand story arcs and emotional beats are comfortable working episode by episode can take direction but also contribute ideas appreciate a clean workflow enjoy building something meaningful take pride in their craft are happy to collaborate long-term if it’s a good fit I usually provide: a script a folder of assets any notes on mood/tone references from past episodes You deliver: draft version for review final export after revisions files neatly organised I’m building a long-term relationship with the right editor — someone who feels aligned with the heart and soul of this series.
