We are currently looking for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position working on a specialist, niche product.Working Hours45-hour week with a paid 1-hour lunch break (12:00–1:00pm)Standard working hours are 7:30am–4:30pm or 7:00am–4:00pmMost staff work 9½ hours Monday–Thursday to allow an early 2:00pm finish on FridaysSemi-flexible hoursThe RoleOperating standard flatbed industrial sewing machinesWorking from detailed drawings and specificationsProducing high-quality items to a consistent standardAll machinery, tools and PPE (if required) are providedExperience & Skills RequiredPrevious sewing machinist experience is essentialExperience in upholstery or soft furnishings would be an advantageA very good standard of written and spoken English is requiredAbility to accurately follow technical drawings and specificationsConfident working with metric measurements (cm & mm) and occasional imperial measurementsCompetent using a ruler and measuring accuratelyFull training will be provided, as this is a specialist product, so direct experience in this field is not expected.PayStarting rate: National Minimum WagePay will increase after the training period, dependent on ability and experienceIf you are a skilled machinist who takes pride in accuracy and quality, we would love to hear from you.
