About
Over the past few months I have been working on a concept that allows me to utilise usenet as a storage engine and control access via encryption keys and a core index file, not utilising the standard NZB format. I have used Claude Code and Replit to build a fully functional software that works end to end. This is build using C++, Python, React and SQLite I need to test this at a larger scale and also need to in improving the stability, frontend and help package this up to be Production ready This is a very complex project, so understanding usenet is essential alongside encryption key pairs and security. Think of it like using Usenet as the storage engine and blockchain for access. This is a unique software application for a unique usage so I know that applicants will be limited. However with help from the right developer this will be a long term project. You Should Have: • Deep knowledge of Usenet, posting, encoding (e.g. yEnc), and retention • Experience in distributed file syncing and/or torrent-like systems • Ability to work independently and provide technical direction • Bonus if familiar with cloud-based storage overlays This project is complex and cutting-edge, so we’re looking for someone comfortable pushing boundaries. If you’re excited by innovative file distribution systems and want to help reshape how people use Usenet, we want to hear from you. To apply: Please share relevant experience with Usenet or similar tech, GitHub or portfolio links, and any thoughts on how you’d approach this project.
