We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Material Handler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within our facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic to contribute to efficient operations in a dynamic environment. Prior experience with mechanical equipment (Material Grab Handler with swinging head) is essential so you can fulfil the position immediately.

Duties

• Safely operate material handling equipment such as grabs, forklifts and excavators to move goods across the site
• Load and unload materials from lorries, containers, and storage areas
• Operate the grab to feed the shear, shredder or bailer with relevant material.
• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and report any faults or maintenance needs
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a secure working environment
• Support the team with general yard duties as required.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge is essential for operating and maintaining handling equipment effectively
• Experience with excavators is essential. Please only apply if you have a minimum of 2 years experience.
• Commercial driving skills, including valid licences, are preferred to facilitate transportation tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy loads safely and stand for extended periods

Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 16.45pm, 3 week rota for Saturday morning shift 8am - 12noon.

Overalls provided, on site parking, bonus scheme, pension scheme.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
