JOB TITLE: Environmental Health Officer - Pollution Team
REF: Bradford 5275058
Pay rate: £46.86 per hour PAYE. Rate negotiable for a competent and capable/experienced candidate.
Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 6 months
Working Arrangement: Willing to work in Bradford because of the necessity to be able to undertake site visits and physical inspections of relevant premises within the district. Some of the requirements can be completed remotely.

In order to apply for this role you will be a qualified and registered EHO, with experience in Pollution.

The role:

On behalf of a local council, we are seeking an Environmental Health Officer with at least 12 months carrying out the duties as an Environmental Health Officer (including placement during training). Ideally you will have experience in the area of Pollution.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with and develop the inspection programme for environmentally permitted processes (LA-IPPC Part A2 and Part B operations)
Update the Council's website for environmental permits
Create and upload the Public Register, and specifically assist in the delivery of an investigation concerning odour with direct support from managers
Assist with the delivery of other "Pollution Team" requirements.



What the client is looking for:

Registration as a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) OR Registration as a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH)
Degree in environmental health or a diploma in environmental health that is recognised by the chartered institute of environmental health (Cieh) and a certificate of registration from the environmental health officers registration board (Ehorb)
At least 12 months carrying out the duties as an Environmental Health Officer (including placement during training).
Demonstrate an ability to interpret, understand and utilise complex technical information, legislation and sources of operational guidance relevant to the full range of Environmental Health and Housing responsibilities.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of, and participation in, risk based inspection programmes, including the application of suitable inspection methodologies and enforcement actions.
Able to provide clear verbal and written high level technical advice to a wide range of specialist and non specialist audiences, including assisting clients to comply with legislative requirements
