The Opportunity
We are seeking an inspiring and skilled English Teacher to join a dedicated English department. This is a brilliant chance for an educator with a passion for literature, language, and communication to make a real impact. The ideal candidate will have strong subject expertise, a dynamic approach to teaching, and a genuine desire to ignite a love of reading and writing in young people. You will be providing cover during a period of absence, ensuring continuous, high-quality instruction for our students. Your Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in English for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
- Evaluate and track student progress, providing helpful feedback to support their learning journey.
- Cultivate a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere where students feel empowered to learn and express themselves.
- Work closely with department colleagues to ensure a smooth transition and consistency in the curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the wider school community.
- Offer one-on-one and small group support to students requiring additional assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a true passion for your discipline.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- The flexibility and adaptability needed to quickly integrate into our school's routines.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
