The OpportunityYou will be a vital part of the moulding production team, providing comprehensive night-shift engineering support and technical expertise. While your priority is supporting production and resolving sophisticated equipment breakdowns, you will also be a key problem-solver, focused on implementing robust solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
Main Responsibilities- Be the 'problem solver' and technical expert, proactively undertaking diagnostics and implementing robust engineering solutions to prevent complex machine faults from recurring.
- Identify and implement improvements to existing equipment that enhance Health & Safety, reduce costs, and increase productivity or quality.
- Ensure all manufacturing equipment is set up and producing products according to established standards and validated settings.
- Coordinate yearly preventative maintenance activities to ensure timely completion that meets production demands.
- Actively participate in the technical knowledge transfer and ongoing coaching of less experienced technical associates on-shift.
- Maintain effective communication and information transfer within and between shifts, cooperating with process engineering and other support groups.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical aptitude and proven experience in a fast-paced, highly automated setting.
Essential Requirements:
- At least a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment, specifically within the moulding discipline.
- Proficient IT skills for operating SAP systems (to log maintenance, order parts, and diagnose faults using data).
- Strong ability to fault-find and resolve technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills, with a positive attitude and patience for mentoring.
Highly Desirable Experience:
- A background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems.
- Salary Range: £36,000 - £37,000 base salary, plus a 48% shift premium.
- This is a night shift onsite role (11 PM - 11 AM, 3 days on and 3 days off) that includes a competitive salary plus a generous 48% shift premium.
- Time Off: 240 hours annual leave (increasing to 247.5 after 5 years service).
