- Position Summary
General Summary/Responsibilities
- The EAP Counselor is responsible for providing short-term, solution focused counseling for clients that
- include employees and their families. The EAP Counselor will assist employees accessing the EAP benefit provided by their employer for such things as brief counseling, help finding community resources, conflict management and substance abuse and psychological issues. The EAP Counselors must have excellent customer service, diverse social skills, and the agility to think on their feet. While occasionally needed, experience assessing for mental health emergencies and coordinating care for any such need is required. Broad knowledge of substance abuse is important and a general familiarity with resource options is helpful.
