Role description:
The Employability Development Facilitator is responsible for delivering group workshops to individuals from migrant and refugee backgrounds across Fife. The post-holder will work with Lead Coordinator and Senior Management to plan, organise, and coordinate activities in the local area. The Employability Development Facilitator will be empathetic, understanding and be able to build and maintain trust within a group setting and keep the groups focused and motivated to complete the workshops and build peoples skills and knowledge of the world of work in Scotland.
Based at: Premier House , 29A Randolph Place , Kirkcaldy , KY1 2YX .
Work pattern - Working flexibly on five over six days per week (weekend and evening work required)
Hours - 35
Hourly pay - £15.13
Placement end date: 27/03/2026.
As Employability Development Facilitator, you can expect your role to involve but not be limited to the following:
· Work collaboratively with Lead Coordinator and Senior Management to review, develop and produce material for employability training workshops.
· Prepare for and facilitate a series of workshops across Fife.
· Empower individuals to develop confidence in their own ability to make decisions about their future and support them to improve their ability to communicate effectively with support services.
· Coordinate logistics, facilities, safety and security, equipment, staffing and volunteer resources in conjunction with the Management Team.
· Keep accurate and detailed records of participants and their journey through the workshops, ensuring all information is updated on the database and in the specific Teams folders to track individual progress.
· Record individual’s skills and experience to match up appropriate work placements.
· Collaborate with Lead Coordinator in respect of employers to secure placements to match skills, experience, and preferences for participants once they have completed the workshops successfully.
· Maintain knowledge of local community and multidisciplinary teams who can offer different types of help and support.
· Prepare impact reports and case studies as required.
· Work jointly with ESOL on service delivery and ensuring effective communication regarding individual’s attendance and learning journals ensuring these are updated.
· Act as Fife International Forum’s point of contact in the local community, develop positive relationships, engage with external stakeholders and regulators, build trust, and enhance the organisation’s reputation.
Essential Qualifications/ Skills:
Ability to communicate and have a positive impact on others to influence and gain their support.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, integrity, self-discipline, trustworthiness, teamwork, conflict management, problem solving, sound judgement, initiative and decision making.
Ability to facilitate interactive workshops and provide information in relation to the world of work and employment in Scotland to support people to secure employment that fits with their career plans.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to move quickly and easily from planning to implementation.
Ability to balance and meet the needs of different people in the solution of problems and issues.
Reliability in complying with specific internally established control systems and rules, leading by personal example, and encouraging all employees to do the same.
Advocating and acting as ambassador of the organisation, continuously building new and developing existing community relationships.
You are persuasive, engaging and can build positive relationships with relevant stakeholders
Conduct all activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the Fife International Forum’s standards and policies, including its ethics, code of conduct and safety policies.
The ability to lead, facilitate, motivate, and manage groups.
Excellent English speaking and writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people whose first language is not English.
Excellent IT skills, experience in using Microsoft packages to prepare and deliver material using Chrome Books and Tablets as a medium for learning.
Hold a current UK driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable Qualifications/ Skills:
Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
Work experience and demonstrable background in providing support to vulnerable communities.
A good working knowledge and understanding of the world of work in Scotland including culture, values, communication, employer expectations, the administration and governing system, employment policies and procedures.
The Employability Development Facilitator selection process will consist of two stages:
1. The first stage will take the form of an exercise.
2. The second stage will take the form of a formal interview with the Senior Operations Manager, the Funding, Evaluation & Impact Manager and the Lead Coordinator.
3. Please allow 1.5 hour for the complete interview process.
Following the selection process, we will complete a plenary session where the successful candidate will be decided.
