About

Academics are currently looking for experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant's for day-to-day and short/long term roles within our partnership nurseries and primary schools. Working across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding areas can be diversified, meaning that we work with an assortment of primary schools and that we do have different requirements to suit. We are proud to say that here at Academics we have had a strong record of placing many of our Teaching Assistants into permanent work following a successful period of long term supply within our nurseries and primary schools. Responsibilities of an Early Years Teaching Assistant: To support learning across Nursery & Reception (EYFS).Always maintaining a nuturing and safe environment at all times.Delivering small group sessions and 1:1 activities when required. Supporting with fine motor development, early phonics and maths.To record progress to support early learning journeys.Promoting positive behaviour and independence. For this role, applicants who apply must have: An Early Years / Level 3 TA qualification.Previous experience of working with children in a nursery or primary school setting (in the UK).Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.Confident communication skills and to be a strong team player. Strong behaviour management skills.A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).A current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with ourselves (cost applied).
