Primarily controlling and keeping in order two small linked warehouses. Using the company's computer system to receive orders either via courier deliveries or suppliers own transport. Controlling locating of stock, and (in conjunction with the sales office) ensuring stock levels are kept both accurate and full. Picking of customer orders either for delivery on the company's own vehicles or for customer collection at the trade counter. Any applicant would need to be reasonably physically fit, as some items are bulky and/or heavy.
Occasionally, there may be a requirement to fill in for the main driver or even to take the pressure off any particualrly busy delivery days. This will involve driving a Panel van, or 1.5 ton flatbed truck in and around London, from our location in Battersea, delivering to site addresses, distributing plumbing and drainage materials.
Completing all relevant safety checks prior to delivering.
The company has an excellent reputation for superb service and this would be a requirement that the prospective employee must convey. A knowledge of "trade" operations is desirable thought not essential, along with an ability to think quickly and to be able to work on their own and use their initiative. This role would incorporate an amount of warehouse work during any down time both locating and picking stock.
