- Great Bear has a new opportunity for for an experienced Driver Trainer to join our team at our Sheffield site.
- As the Driver Trainer you will be responsible for delivering driver related training, evaluate and monitor the impact of training on Great Bear Drivers.
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00
- Salary: £37,000 per annum
- Key Duties of a Driver Trainer
- Deliver training relating to drivers’ hours / tachographs / WTD rules and regulations to new and existing drivers.
- Maintain up to date training records and be proactive in identifying training needs.
- Update Great Bear Distribution Drivers’ Manual as and when required.
- Deliver manual handling and refresher training.
- Deliver training regarding SAFED/ Fuel Economy and Defensive Driving.
- Monitor the standard of Great Bear driving and provide information, advice and guidance to departments such as H&S, Transport and HR.
- Liaise with other personnel such as Transport Manager, Transport Planners and operations desk staff coordinators as necessary in order to maximise benefits for all training provided.
- Report on (both verbal and written) the ability and performance of drivers following all driver training courses undertaken, using counselling and coaching techniques as required.
- Use Microlise performance statistics to proactively manage the driver’s performance.
- Support the induction process.
- Ensure the transport department is fully compliant with all training requirements
- Qualifications
- HGV Driving License – full, clean C+E.
- Able to work without direct supervision.
- Adaptable approach to work/ training.
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information to trainees.
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
- A good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office applications.
- Qualified to Advanced driving level would be desirable.
