About

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

Would you like a varied and rewarding role, supporting people and working in a team? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Our day services support people who have Learning Disabilities and/or Autism with high levels of need. This is an opportunity to be part of a service which makes a real difference to the lives of those people and their families.

About the Role

Our transport service is based from our day services. We operate a fleet of vehicles to collect people from the local community and bring them to our service, where they will have activities and support. Transport is staffed by drivers accompanied by transport escorts drawn from our team of support workers.

There are AM and PM transport runs. There may also be activities during the day for people we support which need a driver available. In between driving duties you will be cleaning the vehicles, taking them to be fuelled or for checks/services/MOT’s and assisting with tasks within the service such as sorting deliveries, cleaning areas of the building and preparing rooms to be used.

We are currently recruiting for 3 positions in total.

1 x full-time, 37 hour, 8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, 1 hour unpaid break each day, 30 minutes overtime per week for week to total 37.5 hours due to needs of service.

1 x part-time, 15 hour, 8am to 11am Monday to Friday.

1 x part-time, 15 hour, 2pm to 5pm Monday to Friday.

We will consider combining the above part-time roles if appropriate for the right candidate.
