We are looking for a dental receptionist to join our family dental practice in Nether Poppleton, York.

Jorvik Dental Practice is an independent and family-owned private practice with a relaxed environment and a friendly team. We are a private practice offering a full range of general and family dentistry services.

About the role:

The role would be to receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Your contributions will help uphold our commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
• Manage appointment scheduling and maintain an organized calendar for dental services.
• Handle patient inquiries via phone and in-person with professionalism and care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Assist with billing and insurance claims processing as needed.
• Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth operation of the practice.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an administrative or office role, preferably within a dental healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with dental terminology is a plus but not required.
• GDC, indemnity costs and CPD training provided by the practice
• Professional development and team building days are scheduled every year
• Previous experience with dental software and working at a dental surgery is an advantage but not necessary

- A qualified or nearly qualified Dental Nurse or past experience of dental nursing would be desirable
