Job Description Overview The Delivery PMO Lead is accountable for the project management function within CPS, including project controls and on-site supervision. This role is responsible for ensuring that Renewals and additional scope (Improvements) projects are delivered through a consistent, high-quality process that reflects industry best practices. This role is also responsible for ensuring that the project management and supervision teams are appropriately-resourced to meet workload requirements and productivity targets and that individual performance is managed, in conjunction with the relevant Delivery Leads. The post holder will also take the lead in client relationship management with Connect Plus and National Highways to ensure that the professional services that CPS is providing meet expectations and that opportunities for additional work can be realized. The role also includes the management of the Project Controls function to ensure that accurate and high-quality performance analysis is available to support all project delivery teams and that the programme data supports delivery teams in looking ahead to where delivery risks may occur. The postholder is responsible for ensuring that the supervision team works safely, efficiently and productively across all active construction activities and ensures that CPS obligations under the CDM Regulations and contract are discharged as necessary. Your role Safety Demonstrate visible safety leadership across the team. Ensure that HSW standards are clear across the team and that a visible presence is maintained by all Project Managers and Supervisors on all sites. Ensure that the whole team has documented safety objectives that contribute to driving up HSW performance and support the principles of Making Safety Personal. People Leadership Implement a consistent approach to performance management across the Project Management, Supervision and Project Controls teams with every individual having a SMART set of personal objectives, regular 121s and twice yearly formal PDR conversations. Address underperformance where required (in conjunction with Delivery Leads where appropriate) and support personal development of team members to grow and develop according to their aspirations. Process Ownership Ensure that clear and documented project management processes are in place and applied across all asset-led delivery streams. Undertake assurance activities across all delivery streams to monitor the application of the processes and their effectiveness. Process Improvement Keep the project management processes under regular review to assess effectiveness and efficiency. Ensure that processes are tailored to the needs of each project type (based on risk and complexity) and drive continuous improvement through the team. Reporting Ensure that effective and accurate project, portfolio and programme reports are in place for all delivery streams (including PDA and, where possible, Inspections/Maintenance) to provide high-quality management information on the performance of Asset Delivery. Budget Management Review the forward work programme and liaise with the Delivery Leads to ensure that the appropriate numbers and competencies of resources are in place, in line with budget approvals and whilst maintaining the target productivity levels across the team. Stakeholder Engagement Provide an interface for stakeholders in relation to key contract delivery routes (CP Renewals and Improvements) to ensure that delivery updates can be provided relevant to stakeholder needs. Resource Allocation Working with Delivery Leads, efficiently coordinate resources within the organisational matrix to meet project deadlines and quality standards. About you Degree or equivalent experience in a technical or project management discipline. Proven experience in project delivery involving a programme of c£100m and upwards per year. Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team, preferably within a matrix organisation. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under pressure. Familiarity with the industry's safety standards and regulations, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
