Are you interested in delivering impactful and cutting-edge Trade Promotion Effectiveness (TPE) models?

Bring your data science and coding knowledge to carry out major refactoring of Trade Promotion Effectiveness models from R to Python.

Important prerequisites and info

  • You are currently enrolled in a higher educational institution and can take on an internship for 6 months (37,5h per week). You could come from multiple educational backgrounds such as Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering or similar fields.

  • Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK and must be enrolled in an educational programme for the full duration of the internship.

  • This is a paid internship, and the successful candidate is expected to work from the London office three days a week.

Core Responsibilities

  • Refactor existing TPE models code from R to Python to ensure compatibility and stability on the Databricks platform.

  • Collaborate with the team to understand model logic, data pipelines, and dependencies.

  • Validate refactored Python code to ensure it produces equivalent outputs and performance to the original R models.

  • Document refactored code and contribute to best practices for reproducibility and maintainability.

  • Gain hands-on experience working with real-world data science models in a production environment.

  • Communicate progress, challenges, and findings regularly to the team.

Join us as an intern in the Trade Promotion Effectiveness product team, where we develop data science solutions that help the LEGO Group make smarter, data-driven decisions about retail promotions. You’ll be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team working together to understand how our trade promotions impact sales across markets, and how we can optimize them for even greater impact. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work with real-world sales and promotional data, based in our London office.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Expertise in both Python and R programming languages.

  • Good understanding of Programming best practices. Experience with Machine Learning (ML) models.

  • Collaborative mindset and strong team spirit.

  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and outcome focused.

  • Confidence, proactivity, and ability to work autonomously.

  • Proficiency in English language skills.
