You’ll be part of an industry-leading team, working with Marshall and other major defence stakeholders and Primes. Purpose of the position The role will work closely with the Aerospace Operations Management Team, to support operational activity and act with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality. The individual will be tasked with taking business critical data and converting it to information that is easily consumed by everyone in the organisation. This will primarily be in the form of reports, dashboards and apps generated in Power BI that contains pre-agreed KPI’s and other indicators of performance against targets. Accountability Incorporate data from all available sources (including but not limited to IFS, Workday, PLM, Q-Pulse and others such as Microsoft Office applications) Provide useful and useable information in a secure manner designed to simplify adoption by Marshall business areas Responsibilities: Provide a broad range of data & analytics support services to the business, using initiative to anticipate business needs and respond accordingly Highlight inaccurate recording of information into relevant systems Produce standard and non-standard reports to support the business in its needs and to better inform decision making Partner with relevant business areas to understand, influence and support their data reporting and measurement requirements Develop and agree common delivery KPI’s, where applicable ensure alignment across functional reporting Partner with BIS team to develop and implement the BIS systems necessary to efficiently mine & present business data Develop Power BI apps to introduce (as close as possible to) real-time monitoring of performance on a range of business devices available to all levels of the business Develop Power BI apps to automate as far as possible all periodic reporting requirements (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and track and monitor the performance of the end-to-end business (Order to Cash) including Customer-funded and internal transformation Programmes/Projects. Work closely with the BIS Team to enable problems to be better understood and where necessary collaboratively resolved to the benefit of all. Resolve issues with colleagues, share knowledge and direct them to available help tools and material. Tasks: Develop metrics and reports to identify effectiveness of the processes and identify improvement activity if appropriate Delivery of additional training as required to support management and operation delivery teams Maintain awareness of external changes and industry best practice Capability Behavioural Competencies: Comfortable working in a complex environment with a degree of ambiguity Ability to engage, communicate and influence at all levels Demonstrates high energy, drive and enthusiasm Resilience and determination Active listener Adaptable and resilient Pragmatic and focuses on solutions Empathetic Ability to meet targets and deadlines Management of tasks and requirements as and when they arise Technical Competencies: High computer literacy and broad experience in the use of office systems, equipment and processes Understanding of how key data is stored and accessed in a highly regulated business environment Able to communicate information clearly via straightforward info-graphics and reports that are easy to use at all appropriate organisational levels Understanding of an aerospace engineering orientated business operation Education: Educated to at least A- Level standard or Advanced vocational qualification, degree or equivalent experience (desirable) BIS Systems training and qualifications or business studies (desirable) Experience: Excellent communicating and influencing skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence Experience providing the depth and breadth of knowledge needed to be impactful at all levels Demonstrable credibility and a network of contacts in an area of expertise Additional local needs As directed by the Senior Leadership Team the individual must be willing to step outside the day-to-day activity to take on additional responsibility, potentially in an unfamiliar environment, to lead, support and encourage the successful delivery of projects/initiatives. This may include secondments to other locations or departments within the company.
