You will combine strong technical understanding with exceptional leadership, guiding teams through complex, high‑risk work while fostering an environment where people feel supported, empowered, and motivated to deliver their best. What You’ll Do On any given day, you’ll operate across leadership, strategy, technical oversight, and organisational influence. Your responsibilities will include: Team Leadership & Development – Leading, mentoring, and developing a diverse team of analysts. Creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and able to grow their skills and careers. Strategic Direction & Prioritisation – Setting the agenda for key analytical workstreams, ensuring the team focuses on the highest‑value problems and delivers outcomes aligned to business priorities. Technical Oversight of Complex Delivery – Providing direction and governance on the most complex, high‑risk technical work. Ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, well‑architected, and aligned to best practice. Acting as the escalation point for technical judgement calls. Driving Advanced Analytical Solutions – Leading the design and delivery of sophisticated data products, models, and analytical frameworks that enable the business to make smarter, faster decisions. Stakeholder Influence & Relationship Building – Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, shaping decisions through clear, compelling insight and advocating for data‑driven thinking across the organisation. Community & Culture Building – Fostering a strong, inclusive data community. Driving initiatives that strengthen collaboration, wellbeing, knowledge‑sharing, and a sense of belonging within the team and wider department. Innovation & Capability Growth – Championing new technologies, tools, and ways of working. Encouraging experimentation, continuous learning, and the adoption of modern analytical approaches. Operational Excellence – Ensuring smooth day‑to‑day running of the team, removing blockers, managing risks, and enabling the team to deliver high‑quality work at pace. What We’re Looking For Leadership & People Development – Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams. Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire individuals at different stages of their careers. Strategic Thinking & Influence – Strong ability to shape direction, influence senior stakeholders, and translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations. High‑Level of Technical Expertise – Deep understanding of analytics, coding, and modern data architectures. Able to guide and challenge technical decisions, ensure quality, and steer the delivery of advanced analytical solutions. Culture & Community Building – Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture. Experience driving initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, engagement, and shared purpose. Operational & Delivery Excellence – Skilled at prioritising, managing risk, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality delivery across multiple workstreams. Advocacy for Best Practice – Strong commitment to data quality, governance, and modern analytical standards, with the ability to embed these across teams and stakeholders. Where and how you'll work This is a permanent position and can be based in our Nottingham office. We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home. We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
