The Role As a Cybersecurity Automation Engineer, you’ll protect critical infrastructure against evolving threats. You’ll go beyond monitoring: proactively hunting for adversaries, detecting Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), and using automation to drive faster, more accurate responses. Your responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing automated workflows to streamline incident response and reduce time-to-detect. Conducting threat hunting to uncover advanced threats that may evade existing controls. Leveraging EDR and NDR technologies to detect and respond to unusual activity across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments. Supporting digital forensics by collecting, analyzing, and preserving evidence for incident investigations. Applying threat intelligence analysis to interpret data, classify attack patterns, and anticipate risks. By combining hands-on cybersecurity defense with automation engineering, you’ll be shaping the team’s future capability to operate at pace and scale. We’re invested in your journey. Who You Are You’re a hands-on cybersecurity professional with a passion for automation and continuous improvement. You thrive on solving complex problems, reducing manual effort, and enabling teams to operate at pace. You bring technical expertise in incident response and security engineering, but also an inquisitive mindset and a collaborative approach. Required Skills and Experience 4+ years in cybersecurity incident response. 3+ years with SOAR platforms (XSOAR, XSIAM, Tines, or similar). Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Azure Sentinel, LogRhythm, etc.). Scripting expertise in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript. Hands-on experience with EDR technologies (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender). Strong grounding in network/host intrusion analysis, digital forensics, or malware analysis. Ability to perform deep-dive analysis and correlate data from multiple sources (PCAP, forensic artifacts, log correlation). Understanding of operating systems and network protocols. Familiarity with behavioral threat models (MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model). Excellent technical writing and presentation skills. Preferred Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field. Certifications such as ECTHP (Certified Threat Hunting Professional), ECMAP (Malware Analysis Professional), or SANS (GCIH, GCFA, GCDA, GCIA, GREM, etc.). Experience in cloud security monitoring and advanced analytics (UEBA). Experience with threat/data modeling, advanced correlation, and metrics-driven reporting.
